Bosses
Every mission ends with a boss: the Outpost Warlord (Overgrown Outpost), the Ruin Colossus (Sunken Ruins), the Obsidian Tyrant (Obsidian Citadel). They share the same attacks; each map’s tier makes its boss tougher.
Attacks
A boss chases the nearest player and hits hard up close. Every few seconds it warns with a flash (the warning is longer before a charge), then uses one of four attacks in turn. The lower its health, the more often it attacks.
Two rings of fire bolts in every direction, one right after the other. Find a gap or put up a shield.
A fan of shock bolts aimed at its target. Move sideways.
A fast dash in a straight line that hits everyone in its path hard. Watch the direction it flashes and step aside, or dodge through it.
Calls a pack of runners around it, more with a bigger squad.
Health by map
| Boss | Map | Health (solo) | Health (4 players) | Damage (solo) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Outpost Warlord | Overgrown Outpost | 1,534 | 4,986 | 57.1 |
| Ruin Colossus | Sunken Ruins | 2,301 | 7,478 | 75 |
| Obsidian Tyrant | Obsidian Citadel | 3,224 | 10,478 | 94.9 |
Bosses gain more health per extra player than other enemies. In Boss Rush, the second and third bosses have 1.5× and 2.2× this much.
Weaknesses
Weak to Shock (+25%); resists Fire and Frost. Shock stuns a boss for only a moment.
Tips
- Spread out so one charge or spray can’t hit the whole squad.
- Kill the summoned runners quickly; they add up.
- Save your grenades, turret and abilities for the boss area.
- A Vanguard’s Bulwark and Fortify blunt the burst rings; a Ranger can roll through charges.
- Bosses always drop a gun case, often an armour plate, grenades, a turret kit, and a 25%–45% chance of an Augment Core for each player.
