How to play
Squadbreak is a top-down co-op shooter that runs in your browser. Pick a class, fight through a map area by area, beat the boss, and use what drops to get stronger. Here’s everything you need for your first mission.

Getting started
- Open squadbreak.com and create an account: a username and a password, no email needed.
- Choose your class. Its class is permanent, but you can make up to 4 characters. See classes.
- Press Play, choose a mode (start with Mission), choose a map (start with Overgrown Outpost), and Deploy.
- Friends can join your game from their lobby while it runs, up to 4 players.

Fighting
Aim with the mouse and click to shoot. Automatic guns fire while you hold the button; semi-auto guns (the Twin Revolvers, Arc Pistol, Longrifle, Breacher, Tactical DMR and Desert Hawk) fire once per click and hit harder.
You carry a primary and a sidearm. When a magazine runs dry, press Q to switch: the other gun is ready in 0.35 seconds, far quicker than reloading. See weapons.
Your abilities (1, 2, 3) boost you and your squad: shields, dashes, heals, damage and speed. See your class page for what each does.
Press G to throw a grenade (you carry 3) and T to deploy a turret. See grenades, turrets and boosts.
Clearing a mission
Each map is split into areas. Enemies sleep in packs until you get close or they see you; some areas spring an ambush when you walk in.
Clear every enemy in the area and the gate to the next one opens. The last area holds the boss.
Enemies drop gold (shared with the squad), health packs, mod crates, amber gun cases and blue armour plates. Whoever picks up a case gets one for the whole squad: everyone rolls their own drop.
Going down
When your health hits zero you go down, and get back up where you fell after 12 seconds with 60% health. A Medic standing over you gets you up faster. If the whole squad is down at the same time, the run is over, so solo, going down ends it.
After the mission
Every area you clear pays XP and gold, and a win adds more plus a mod and a gun or armour suit. Back in the lobby, spend skill points, upgrade your guns and armour, and try a harder map. See progression.
Runs in your browser. No download, no email. Play solo or in a squad of up to 4.
